German WWII M.36 SS Dress Dagger

Completely unmarked as all of the SS M36 officers daggers should be, this example has slightly later nickel-plated fittings with much of the original plating remaining to the upper and lower cross guards. The blade has some pitting but the motto - Meine Ehre Heisst Treue (My Honour Is Loyalty) - remains crisp and clear and is a very tight fit to the scabbard. The ebony wood grip is in fantastic condition with one slight chip, the SS enamel inset and national eagle are undamaged and tight fitting suggesting pre-war manufacture. All fitted into its anodised scabbard, most of the later, war time daggers have painted scabbards. All of the plating to the mounts is generally good, some minor bubbling and pitting of the plating is visible upon very close inspection which is perfectly normal. The chape does display some rust spots. SS runes and scull and crossbones are displayed on the links of the type II chain with an SS inspection mark visable on the rear. Overall an excellent M.36 SS officers dagger.
